String Theory #35 – Turns Out It *Is* All in the Hands
Every guitarist has done it at least once.
You study your hero’s rig. You track down the right guitar, the right pedals, the right amp settings. You recreate the setup as faithfully as possible, convinced that this time — this time — the tone will finally reveal itself.
And then you play.
In this week’s String Theory cartoon, a guitarist stands proudly in front of an obsessively recreated legendary rig. The striped guitar is there. The amps are stacked just right. The pedals are lined up perfectly. Everything is exactly as it should be.
Except for one thing.
No matter how accurate the setup is, the result is unmistakable: it still sounds like him.
Because it turns out…
it is all in the hands.
